Brad M. Sweda, MD

SwedaDr. Sweda grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As an undergrad, Dr. Sweda attended St. Olaf College, and received his Bachelors Degree in Biology and Chemistry. He then received his MD at the University of Minnesota in 1991. Dr. Sweda is a board certified surgeon specializing in the treatment of artery and vein disorders. He is also an active member of the medical community and belongs to the following associations:

  • Fellow of American College of Surgeons
  • Fellow of international College of Surgeons
  • Member of the Michigan Vascular Society
  • Member of Society for Vascular Surgeons

In addition to being active with these organizations, Dr. Sweda is currently involved in 2 medical studies at the Genesys Regional Medical Center. He is the principal investigator on the Revive Study, and assists in the Euclid Study.

Dr. Sweda’s passion for Vascular Surgery goes beyond treating an ailment, but rather treating a person. Dr. Sweda sees each of his patients as a Bonsai Trees that requires their own personalized treatment and attention. He enjoys getting to know his patients, and building a relationship that will last for years. He believes in building a tight relationship with patients because vascular problems require vigilant care throughout long periods of time. Dr. Sweda enjoys the hands on, nurturing element of vascular surgery, and strives to see positive results in all of his patients.

When Dr. Sweda is not in the office, he enjoys spending time outdoors. He has participated in triathlons, and summited Mount Whitney, the highest peak in North America (15,500 ft). Dr. Sweda is also a 2 time Iron Man finisher, and a 10 time Half Iron Man Finisher.
